Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his unique mixture of soul gospel, R&B and R&B. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church where she sang and performed piano. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the city's R&B scene. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the principal keyboardist on the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing she asked Sunshine to be part of the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
